Rhino as in "Nashorn"?

I've still not completely finished mine, yeah I have a serious procrastination/distraction mental condition. I'm in on that one too, just because I have a head start doesn't mean I'll finish early!
No sorry, the F/A-18A-F Super Hornet is affectionately known as the "Rhino" by those affiliated with it.

Today's arrival. I now have all the vehicles for my DAK Oasis Diorama
The Tempest was a bonus and not part of the Dio.

What does everyone think, any more Hornets in the stashes out there? I built one in the very early 80s, it was white plastic and had the gold and blue stripes as decals, they way it was presented to the public as the Tomcat replacement.

Since then I've only done one Navy jet, Hellcat/Dauntless/Wildcat do not count. But if there's enough people interested I say we do one.
I'm in! Mostly because I've been working on the Revell 1/32 F-18 since this past November.
The kit has had its challenges and has required a lot of scratch building to bring it up to snuff. It has been a great kit to practice some different skills that I have seen demonstrated on this site and on YouTube.

GORGEOUS!

Since I returned to the hobby ~20 months ago "Special Hobby" was new to me. I'm nearing completion on my 1st ever from them, and general opinion is positive. Mine is a Yak3.

Yeah, they were new to me too, along with so many others. When I last built a kit in 1985 I was becoming aware of a new sensation called Verlinden...

He's still active, posting on Facebook. Apparently, anyway, as I don't go there.
I'll have to seek him out. Modelling pages are pretty much the only thing I visit regularly on Facebook, well aside from military aviation pages. Mind I think I would have had him suggested to me by the algorithm by now. Who knows?

...and so is my stash!
I'd best be figurin' out this whole air doodad and mask thang!
Where's the Spit Mk-V with Buzz Beurling in the cockpit?
Otherwise, some nice kits there!
I look fwd to following their build.
With regards to the airbrush, I only got back into airbrushing a few years ago. It has taken more than a wee bit of practice. I found the YouTube videos to be very helpful.
I can notice that I'm improving over time.
You should check out your local IPMS chapter. I know the guys down at our chapter are more than willing to drag in stuff to our monthly meeting to put on demonstrations if asked. I've learned a lot from them.

Spit Mk-V with Buzz Beurling
Whoa! my stash has gotten ahead of my reading, and I'm just getting into the Malta epic!
Good thing I've been holding off on a Spit!
You know there's gonna HAVE TO BE a build at some point to celebrate a Canadian Ace! 😝
Beurling, known as the "Falcon of Malta", became Canada's highest-scoring ace of WWII
Thanks for the not so subtle nudge!

Hmm, maybe it's part of the addiction.

I have a list on my phone of the aircraft in the stash, on order, and bucket listed.

When I'm at my LHS, I always make a point of looking at the odds and ends displayed in each of the sections: maybe I'll find just the right scale hose in the automotive for a truck, or some chain in the shipbuilding area that would be great on a vehicle, or an accessory like this, to add to a kit in the stash...

It was unceremoniously hidden on a wall with orphaned parts and accessories, a sad puppy looking for a home.

Aren't they all........ Pantherman

For a model I have in mind, I needed an M4A4 Sherman lower hull, which I ended up buying as a separate sprue straight from Asuka in Japan. Because of the postage costs, I ended up adding a set of British accessories and a full kit:

The little Gifts bag at lower right contains three turned-brass bolts by Adler's Nest, presumably as a sampler to try and make me buy more. I'm sure they'll come in handy at some point.

Altogether, including postage, this came to about the same as buying just the kit — excluding postage — here in the EU. Now I'm wondering a little if I'll have to pay VAT and handling fees (charged by the delivery company on importation), but even then I'd not be paying more for this than when buying it "at home".
