Re: SCI-FI Star Wars Shadows of the Empire - Xizor's Virago

Thanks for the comments.

I Want to go back in time a bit. Because there is one thing I did not show yet.

I added leds in the guns. (kind of radar light I guess.)

It was very tricky to drill the glass fiber in the barrel

Tricky, yes.
But it looks like you pulled it off just fine

I will store the batteries for the lighting in the base. So I removed the part of the stand and added a headset connector to it.

Also made a connector to the main body.

I also want to light the engines. So to prevent light leaks, I taped silver tape on the inside, to cover all the large holes in the model.

Made a small box that holds the engine leds and blocks the light from getting in the rest of the model.

Because the lights are very bright, I put some diffuser in the engine outlet.

Al most ready to put everything together. :D

Wow really nice finish!!! The bases really sets it off!!!

The effect is on every part that has the base gray color.
It is created by adding silver to the base color. Then getting a small sponge and putting the paint on there, generating a different pattern every time by turning the sponge.
