Revell PT Boat

Your PT is coming along nicely. I haven't built a plastic ship model since I was 13 or so, It was I destroyer with an electric motor and some sort of primitive "guidance" device inside that set it's course. (I think? It's been 60 years!)
Anyway, I have an Italeri 1/35 scale PT boat kit in my stash that could be a build next year. Has anyone built one of these and does it have any "problems" that were encountered?

Other than the decals on the stand and a matt varnish coat, I am calling this one done. For some reason my metallic paints didn't stick to well even with a primer.

Nice! Looks ready for business... which begs the question, to fire the torpedoes, did they just start 'em up and drop them over the side after pointing the boat at the target?

If memory serves, yes I do believe that is how they launched them (I could be wrong though).
