I have a lighting question for anyone who is interested:
I am working on the Polar Lights Enterprise 1:1000 TOS with the Evans Lighting kit for the same. The lighting kit came with 64 strand Fiber optics (.265mm) for all the windows and instructs to use a #88 or #89 drill bit for these strands. As most of you probably already know these bits are not easy to find and are quite expensive when you do find them. My question is this: (1) The smallest bit I have is a #80, would this work for the .265mm FO strands? Or will there be too much slop? (2) A cheaper alternative to the #88 or #89 drill bit is to use 32 strand FO (.5mm) which by my calculations would take a #76 bit. Would the windows look too big if I used this instead?
