Panzerjager I

Thanks folks. I would leave the top loose so I could open it up and show the interior but unfortunately after test fitting the top of the hull will have to be glued to ensure proper fit. :-\ Oh well, a small portion will be seen once complete.

By the way, I realized that the levers were not placed right. I thought, how could they drive it like that. So now the driver can steer properly. ;D

I should have took better picture but the top is glued on now. She is sealed up for good now. At least I can put on the add on and get some primer on it. Oh wait! those dang tracks. I just love building tracks! ::)

Great Lookin Stuff !!! You were correct - Elfinbein Is the correct color for German interiors. Tamiya Buff is a good choice !! This thing is coming together !!! Lookin' Hot !!

Check this site out when you get a chance. It's really on the Mark for detailing what th colors were inside a German Panzer. Not saying anything about your Pz. I. I think it's some interesting reading & clued Me into a lot !!

This is all that can be seen with the top on.

Not much hu? Here are the tiny little track for this one.

I think what I might try is to get the basic colour down on the tracks in one long section, paint the tank, then try to put the tracks on the tank (hopefully they will bend okay around the drive wheel etc.) and touch up the tracks with rust and whatnot at the end. That's the plan anyway. I have seen these done a few different ways but none of them look easy to me. :-\

Hey Noname looking great, i feel ur pain as far as the tracks go, but im sure things will work out keep up the great work. :)

It looks like you are putting together tiny tracks. I can understand why you are not looking forward to it.

that's a really sweet build noname!

the magic tracks will bend very nicely until the glue hasn't set completely, just wait about ten minutes after having glued the tracks together, then wrap them around the wheels, place some kissing lincolns (1cent coins) on top between the return rollers to create some little sag and you're done! if you don't glue together the end pieces you can put the tracks off for painting ...

I put the tracks together. I'm pretty glad I didn't have to clean them all off the sprue. I have four lengths put together. Two for each side. I let them set overnight and I can still bend them. I know I should have bent them after they sat for about ten minutes like Seven of Nine suggested but I didn't want them to break apart on me while forming them. Had it happen before. Maybe this isn't the best way but I think it will work. When the tank is painted I'll glue the tracks on. I'll put the sag in between the top rollers and then put a spot of glue on each roller to keep them put. But I'll spray them with a mixer of black and brown first. I might to the rust/weathering after the tracks are in place. I know, I know, I do things weird. ::)

I'm not overly knowledgeable about armour. Can someone tell me what the first two things are in this picture? Is the second one just simply a hook? The first thing goes on the rear fender and I have no idea. I've seen them painted red, blue black...??? And the last thing of course is the radio. Does anybody happen to have a pic. of one of these or know what kind of radio it is? I'm sure it could use some wires, headset or something. Thanks

I believe the first one is the fire extinguisher?

The second is a hook, yes. It also has the little bracket that holds it to the fender molded to it.

For an idea of what the radio might look like, check this dude out:

;D

Thanks Ken, that is a help. I also just googled images for Panzerjager radio it found a past build of Tony Lee's. He has his wired up so I could use that as a refernce too. Thanks, Tony. ;D

I haven't gotten to the radio yet. But I did get some paint on it. I used the same Tamiya German Grey as my Alder armoured car. It's a good start but a way to go. I plan on this being a Russian captured tank so the grey will surve as an underpainting. I've also got to clean up a few lines such as around hatch doors. I must have gotten a little too happy with primer and paint. I should be using Tamiya primer as it is nice and thin but gosh that stuff is pricey.

More paint...cool. Man don't you just love those tiny tracks. The PG looks good so far, and will look better with the weathering done. Keep it coming dude, this is great.

Noname, about time you found my little jager. ;D
I didn't want to barge in on your build so I didn't say anything.

Glad to know it will help you out.
