Love this plane granted the 109 may have been more agile and sexy looking fw190 is the bull of the luftwaffe
On the flip side the radial engine made the earlier models more resistant to battle damage. She's a beaut!
The issue was the radial did not have a good supercharger, so performance suffered at high altitude. The long-nose Dora you built solved that problem with the Jumo engine.
Sorry for the late reply ya front thr research I did the 190 got a real boost with the upgrade to the D or Dora version a lot more power and pilot survivability the Brits definitely got a scare when they went up against itShe's a beaut!
The 109 excelled in the vertical fight (as opposed to horizontal turn-and-0burn, but the 190 had the best roll-rate of any mainstream fighter of WWII. When the Brits encountered the Butcher Bird they had the Spit Vb and while it was the equal of the 109s at the time Spitfire pilots reported they were outclassed by the 190s. The issue was the radial did not have a good supercharger, so performance suffered at high altitude. The long-nose Dora you built solved that problem with the Jumo engine.
I believe the early A version was what the British got introduced to during the B of B spitfire pilots didn't know what to make of itSorry for the late reply ya front thr research I did the 190 got a real boost with the upgrade to the D or Dora version a lot more power and pilot survivability the Brits definitely got a scare when they went up against it
