I've been passionate about aviation since I was a kid. The first to have that bug in my family, I really don't know why. I retired from an aviation career 10 years ago and, strangely enough, I build aircraft models, mostly in 48th scale. I build to make myself happy, I'm not above using decals that aren't historically correct (gasp!) or painting a scheme that just looks good to me. I'm not patient enough to spend 6 months building the perfect model, mine live in my display cases and are seen from 4-5 feet away. They're "good 'nuf".

Sounds like my attitude! Welcome to the disease! Look forward to seeing your builds!

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you'll fit right in. I think your participation in this madness will improve your natural skills and persuade you to try new techniques which will continue to make you "happy". It certainly has increased my enjoyment of a life long hobby. Build On New Guy!
