MaK/SF3D 1/20 Neuspinne

Here's my last finished model for 2015. The kit is from Rainbow Egg. It contained some finely cast resin pieces and injection molded parts from the Neuspotter kit but the brass rod frfor the legs had to be sourced. Build and paint was straightforward. Weathering was time consuming. I started this about a year ago and would work on it off and on as I felt the need.

The model is hand painted with Gunze and Tamiya Acrylics thinned with Mr Color Leveling thinner. Weathered with oil paints and enamels.

I was checking out the WIP pics on your site .
The legs are in tension ?

The legs are glued except for the polycap hip joint so I can fold it up for storage. The model is standing on it's own four pegs, no rod, no string.

I had big plans to use very small screws and inserts to create working joints but then came to my senses.

It's disturbing and awesome at the same time!
Absolutely fantastic weathering on this- really makes the model look both large and a bit old- like it crawled out of a junkyard to wreak destruction!

I'd be tempted to add an extra leg with an art-desk lamp on the end. Just sorta needs one.
