But photos of Shermans in Korea seem to mainly show a different type, except (I think) tanks early during the war.
All the Shermans were in the early part right? Replaced by Pershings as time went by?

Mostly, I think, but IIRC some soldiered on until the end. Don't quote me on that, though :) Let me check some books …

Aha, page 77 of the classic Armor in Korea: A Pictorial History by Jim Mesko (Carrollton: Squadron/Signal, 1984) has a photo of M4A3 (76 mm) HVSS tanks in February 1953, though of Lord Strathcona Horse, so Canadian ones. Plenty of other photos of Shermans in this book, but almost none have dates in their captions, so it's kind of hard to say without properly reading the text to see when the events mentioned actually took place, though. However, at least one photo of an American M4A3 is captioned as taken in "the second summer of the war" which would mean they were still in use in mid-1951.

Tank Warfare in Korea: 1950 - 53 by Steve Zaloga and George Balin (Hong Kong: Concord, 1994) has fewer photos of Shermans, but the ones in it often have dates in the captions no later than March 1951.
