Land Wasser Schlepper pleasure cruise

I agree with all that was mentioned before and also Great job so far on the vehicle painting the gray shading is perfect!

Thanks again for the great comments, they are all really appreciated

I probably won't get too much chance to post at the weekend so here's my progress so far this week.

I have really only used some oils to add some depth to the LWS and also oils to show some surface rust on it.

I've also opened up the hatches, taken off the window masks and painted in the details. I am pleased with how it came out and so went a bit mad on the pics, Geegad did want to see more so here we go!

Really cool build and I can't wait it see more of it. But the chair on top floor looks a bit post war to me. But I might be mistaken.

Hi Guys

I've been spending a lot of time finishing this one up.

Once I had painted the skin on the figures with oils and let it dry for 2 days I realised it looked too dark and had to put another layer of oils on! Also there seemed to be 1001 things that needed detailing but finally here we are, all done!

Its been a lot of fun building this one and I've learned some new techniques, can't ask more than that.

Thanks all for looking and for all your great comments.

Great finish .....Fantastic stuff :) ,the attention to those little details was well worth the effort put in . Looking forward to the Beetle coming together now ;D

Chris.

Fantastic! I've really enjoyed watching all this come together, thanks for shearing it!

Bravo, Leighbo, Bravo! You've done a terrific job on your schlepper dio. Alot of hard work, and
it shows. Modelers who like the challenge of building convincing looking dioramas take on
challenging projects...a Magnum Opus.....you have done this here with a great display. Congrats!
If you don't mind two minor suggestions......
1.The newspaper looks a tad oversized(unless Europeon papers were that large).
2.The rope bumper on the schlepper looks too white and pristine, needs some weathering.
I hope you don't take offense at my suggestions, they are offered in the spirit of good
fellowship...one modeler to another.
Thanks for sharing your work with us. Bill

Thanks for all the comments guys

Panzerman, I think you are correct in your 2 suggestions. The newspaper is probably out of scale, I had some that were correct, but the arms of the resin figure holding it were really far apart so I had to improvise.

I didn't dare weather the bumper as I didn't want to ruin it!

I will store the suggestions away for the future, thanks for your feedback!

I just read through this whole thread for the first time and let me just say... outstanding work man! Wow! I like every aspect of this blog:) It came together really nice in the end:)

WWII warriors resting is favorite subject of mine!

I acknowledge your precise work; I enjoyed watching your diorama very much

Was model hard to construck? Do you suggest buying, if found in hobby store?

Karl.

Thanks for your interest in my build Karl

Yes, I would definitely recommend buying the Land Wasser Schlepper kit, it went together really nicely, there was very little flash and seam lines, and the detail was very good.

Also it is easy to assemble the top part of the cabin seperately from the hull and paint the interior first and then using the supplied window masks paint the exterior without affecting the interior.

When I researched the other kits available it was suggested that this kit wasn't 100% accurate, but I think the end result looked good which was good enough for me!

I have buit a few Hobby Boss kits and they have all gone together well and they are good value for money too!

Thanke for yor quick response ! I like WWII much and will make purchase when I get near hobby store!

Best to you! And all yor projects

Karl.
