JMacs' 2015 BSC Thread

Quick update.

I've been fighting with the 262. The launching trolly is well underway, and I've started priming and painting bits and pieces.

Here's a test fit of the 262 on the trolly.

I still have to address seams and the leading edge of the wings. See how far back the 262 sits? There will be a 162 on top of the 262 - hence all the ballast.

Painting base colours has started on the trolley wheels and the engine guts.
I'll have to get a good picture of that once I'm a little further along...

And I've begun fitting / building the He 162...

Question to those following this build; for the He 162, what are your thoughts, should I go "Vee" (butterfly) tail or early "H" tail?
This photo shows an early H style tail;

I had a major seam problem inside the tail fan duct. I tried to work around it, in the end I clipped out the bit that supports the rear fan, then filled the seam with putty and sanded the duct. I'm pretty happy with that, I'm making a jig to deal with the kerfs and restore the fan support. Then I think I'm pretty close to printing the RAH-66.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm sorry I haven't been able to comment and keep up with all the excellent contest builds on the go. I'll have to get caught up next week, after I've caught up at work.

Looking cool. Tough call on the tail, I like both. I think I'd actially go with the H - it looks less futuristic and more...I don't know; vintage?
