Guten Tag!!

85-91 active duty ,
USS Theodore Roosevelt

There's no dress code to cross the quarterdeck here . ;)

Ha ha , MM .
What is the weapons in parenthesis ?

I volunteered for sub duty in nuke school .
After talking to a bunch of bubbleheads in Port Canaveral I decided meh , lol .
I asked for a flat-top on the east coast while in prototype and the mighty " Needs-of-the Navy " gave me exactly that

Oh I hear ya. Well on subs Machinist Mates are divided into MM for the nukes back aft, MM auxiliary, and MM weapons which is Torpedomen....don't know why TM wasn't it's own rate while I was in.

First time I've ever heard that .
But ,
they change things up and we're about 20 years apart .

When I was shipboard , Reactor Dept only covered the reactor plants and the MMRs were conventional MMs under Engineering , but I heard Reactors took over all 4 boxes .
IDK if that meant nukes needed to be in the MMR -- seems counterproductive to the personnel issues at the time
