Hopefully they correct the mistakes.
I don't a lot of history with Meng, but
I have not noticed any issues with mine, nor with the Meng ornithopter I built.

So not sure if this is a common problem for them

I really don't think it's a real QC issue, probably one in a million chance and I was the lucky winner. Either way, they are correcting it ASAP at no expense to me.

Great to see so many builds going on in this GB. They are looking amazing! I was hoping to be at least half way done with the build by now, but that damn rabbit hole full of upgrades twisted my ankle and pulled me in. So, as it stands, I just received the replacement fret from Meng. However, I have two more upgrades that should be here this week. I've gone all out on this OOB build...lol. I'll be adding Aires wheel bays and Rockit landing gear set with weighted wheels. Here's a quick look at the sets. I'll be starting on the "Office" this week and prepping for all the upgrade sets.

Put the growler back on the front burner today. You might recall my last attempt at post-shading was so subtle it could hardly be seen. I wanted to wait a while and make sure I still felt that way before going in heavier.

Turns out my hand was a bit heavy this time. Here's (below) an example where I went too far in my opinion.

That speparation on the leading edge slat. I toned it down a bit more after snapping this picture as can be seen by the following one.

Overall I think I'm ready for a clear coat, here's more views...

From my research the weapons are often clean, in fact most pictures they are missing, but the jammers and tanks are sloppy-messy with all sorts of odd color variations on them. I also added some very faint variations to the black on the stabs, they were very stark as solid black.

I was about ready to try and put a clear down, but have learned (the hard way) to wait a while, put it away and decide later if it is really ready. So I stopped myself.

Looks great. Love the ghost grey color/tone you settled on as well

Elbert, from the photos you posted I can barely discern the difference between before and after on the post shading. I think you might be a little hard on yourself. The paint looks good to me. Give it another day or two and then look at it and I'll think you'll see it's a great combo.
