I have been interested in the photo etch set for this one for a while now. I will be watching.....

Decals look great!

Also the low res jpg of the sheets I reset. I used Illustrator to reset the colors and patterns. The colors can be changed at any time.

I've got a few more pics to share.. I started laying down some of the Round 2 decals and have run into a few problems with the fit. Ironically, Carlos Zangrando's have a better fit. I couldn't line up the window holes correctly so I just said, screw it! A lot of detail isn't quite popping as I would like, so I may hit this with a color wash before too long.
Regardless, things got a little tight since I've started a new job where I actually get to use my job skills.
I have more pics later tonight, but I have just painted the bussard collectors and the impulse engine details...everything that glows red..OH, also have a base coat for deflector dish finished as well. I'm not doing any lighting for this one, so all the light effects will be paint effects.

I sprayed a mix of Tamiya Clear red, a few drops of Future along with a touch of alcohol for flavor.

I followed the impulse engine pieces with a back color of gloss white

Next up were the bussard collectors which got the same clear red treatment

These were backed up with a bright Aztec Gold car color straight out of the can..

Next up for the impulse engines were the photo etch parts after getting glued in.

More on this one later, but the engineering section is almost complete, I've got another coat of primer on today and will sand off some seams later this week.

So..the other night I started working on finishing up the nacelles when I realized I didn't have any blue paint. I had to find an alternative.

I painted the clear parts with white primer and the a coat of Pearl White.

Once the paint set up, I applied the glue...waited for about ten minutes and applied the mica powder

I also got one of the lower hull decals started..although I'm not quite sure about the deflector dish being the color I want.

More on the this one later. Take it easy out there.

I saw those pigments at an artist supply store, and have wondered if there was a way to use them for modeling.
Do you know if you can add them to a medium, and paint with them, and have them adhere?
Or, can you use them, as a regular pigment powder, and sort of dry-brush them on?
BTW, your build is looking more and more awesome!
