Hi,

I just finished my first DIY cobble stone road.
Base is a styrene sheet cobbles are lentil beans, glued with white glue.
Then I applied tile grout and various layers of heavy thinned oils ( like a filter)

What do you think, this will be my second diorama that will be my secret Santa build.

I think you are going on the right path there (Reeeeeaaallly bad pun). Only thing I would advice you is bring more color diversity among the cobbles paint some in a bit different color. Older cobbles were usually hacked out of real rock and there was a huge diversity in color. Check out these examples

I bet your road would shine with some color diversity. But the start is already really good looking.

Faust you're right about the different color.Being Belgian I have seen a lot of cobbles on my bike.
But building them in scale I sometimes my mind thinks its ok but It's really not ( don't know if I'm making sense here ;))

But yes I'll have to color it up a bit, but I'm glad you like it already!

I agree. If you vary the color a bit, get some washes on it, I think you'll have a real winner.

That's a pretty neat idea.....never would have thought of lentil beans. Once you add some diversity to the colored stones it's going to look stunning !

I added some more color and some green here and there.
It looks a lot better, unfortunately my photographic skills are close to zero :)

I have also decided that this base work better for a wheeled vehicle, now i have to get a german heavy recce car :D

The bergetiger kinda hovers, so ill make Something else, a dirt road so that the tracks fit better with the ground and that the vehicle itself blend better with the base color wise.

Thanks for the comments guys!
