Thanks all... Will have a look but painting the deck with this pattern may be challenging.
I have heard of the Squadron paints but not sure can find those in Europe.

Whatever scheme you work in sounds great to me. If I jump in there I'd just get in the way, HA! Heck, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this Testors 1/720 Eisenhower carrier in the stash, but maybe my grandsons will know. I'm going to watch this build.

Completed the M54 truck kit, and received the parts for the Missouri... Getting ready to start.

Scale 1/200 is another beast..

Opened the box and started looking at the hull. Nice piece but a quite a lot of defects! Sanding, sanding..

and first pieces glued with obvious gaps... Putty and sanding ahead

Made some progress on the hull. I thought it would be easy, but those bloody lines are not.. Maybe camo (measure 32) would have been easier..
Anyway, hull painted and next step will be varnish, then deck.

1. Black primer

2. Masking before the hull red

3. Hull red. Not sure the right color as I have seen some a lot more "reddish" but this looks like ship hulls to me.

4. Red, black and blue done. Missing the light grey on the bow and correcting (touching up) the red iI damaged when moving the hull around

and the wood support, still to be varnished. Different from most ship "supports" but like this wood (walnut)

@GCB Absolutely stellar work on that hull! The hull red may be a tad dark, but depending on what you are doing with weathering, it will be just fine.

Looking good. What is the blue hole stand brand? I am doing similar with the squishy green flower arranging foam but finding it produces fine dust when inserting and removing the wood sticks.
