An airbrush dilemma? I could use some advice.

I took delivery of an Iwata HP-C and Smart Jet compressor that I won on eBay last week. I played with them a little and all seems quite functional. I had trouble making fine lines but I think that is operator error more than a problem with them equipment.

My dilemma is that, before I saw the Iwata airbrush and compressor being sold as a lot, I had bid on a Badger 150. I won that as well. The 150 is in great shape and has all the parts, including the original wooden box, but it's a siphon feed. Also, I think I may not need it now.

I know lots of guys have more than one brush. But, my thinking is that I like gravity fed brushes and that I am going to focus on learning to paint with the Iwata. The Badger will likely sit, unused. Should I hang on to it? Or, I was thinking that I should put it back on eBay and resell it to recoup my costs. I've been spending a decent amount of money lately because I really didn't have the tools of the hobby. So, sixty bucks back in my bank account seems prudent.

If you have experience in this area, what do you think I should do? Is the Badger a great brush and I should try using it? Should I hang on to it because I will find use for it later? Or, should I sell it and, if in the future I find I want another brush, I can get one then? Meanwhile, I have a little extra money for a new kit or something. What say you?

i have the badger 155 and thats a siphon feed and its a great air brush. now if i was in your place ild keep the iwata for the fancy stuff like fine lines and stuff like that, and use the badger as the work horse, but that 60 quid would be handy. ???

I'm not sure about the 150 but the HP-C pattern is not very wide. I also keep an Iwata siphon feed for the larger areas.

Yesterday, playing with it, it sprayed about an inch or less wide. That's pretty narrow, I guess. I'm doing a lot of 1:48 planes. The badger will do a wider area, then? It did come with two extra needles. I assumed they were different sizes.

So, both of you think the Badger will help with larger areas, then?

Thanks for the replies! :)

Seconded. Keep the siphon feed unit for overall base coats and simpler spraying work and use the other one for detail work. You don't only use one kind of glue or putty or paint, right? Why only use one kind of airbrush?

That makes sense when you put it that way. Thanks!
