Academy 1/48 CH-53E Super Stallion

Good afternoon,

I promised Norm that I would do a quick review of the kit once it came. Well I have to say this thing is absolutely freaking huge!!!

Check out the dimensions of the finished product!

The entire kit is very well molded with absolutely no flash. Academy did a pretty good job putting options in the kit.

This is the only downside to the kit:

I will start construction of this beast after I finish my M-ATV, I am also going to be ordering Eduards Big Ed kit for this thing.

I had won one of these in a contest a few years back. I ended up selling fearing Id never have enough room to display it. I will have to get another one eventually. Looking forward to watching this build come together.

Those tiny ejector marks are a cinch. A dot of putty with a swipe of Testors liquid cement and they are filled and gone. 8)

Good news folks, Eduard just shipped out their Big Ed set! T-Minus a few weeks and I'll begin construction!!!
I would start before that but there is so much PE and it goes everywhere!

Hey Panzerman, I am very excited! My Big Ed set literaly just arrived. I had to take a quick break from the M-ATV as it is trying my patience. So im thinking ill be starting this thing in a few weeks.

Thanks guys. I will try to post some pics of the PE soon... I will say it came in very nice! I am probably going to purchase a PE bender before I start on this build.

Here are pics of the PE. I didn't take pics of all of the stuff included in the Big Ed. Just the stuff for the interior. There is a lot of really nice stuff in there.

Can't wait to start this one. Who knows, maybe I'll quit the M-ATV.....

Yeah, i agree with schweinhund - it represents soft fabric good, just fill those ejection marks and sand them and it will be great.
