1974 AMX Javelin

Thanks everybody. I appreciate all the encouragement.

I got the errors fixed, but am delayed by the humidity today. It's absolutely pouring here in my area. I was hoping to get the clear coat on there today and then get to spraying some chrome.

I sanded and re-coated the gloss black pieces in prep for the Alclad Chrome. The plastic on these parts are really bad and require a lot of extra attention. I have no photo for this so you'll just have to trust me. ;D

Sanded down my fat finger prints....

Sorry for the bad lighting.

I think now it's back to the interior to finish the final color and get some detailing done.

Thanks for following.

Thanks fellas...you are all too kind to me!

Finish complete and now time to get some details done.

Gloss coat and a little fine polish added to the finish before I start work on the details.

Now it's time to get down to the nitty gritty.

Thanks TRM..., was worried about the finish with it being an auto and all. I'm so used to building aircraft where the finish doesn't need to be perfectly smooth. ;)

Any good polishing tips? To really take it over the edge in shinyness?

Norm: I did consider doing that, just as I considered cutting all the seats out and walls out and detailing them but..., it's such a poor plastic mold , and it's so hard to see any details once it's put together that I thought the exterior finish would be the place to really focus on. I just tried to match the colors up to his actual car as best as I could for the fabric and floor.

There IS another car on the horizon to match up to his 1970 AMX that is in the box and sealed. I'll defo go the extra 12 miles on the interior of that beast. The flocking looks great too. Thanks for the tutorial.

Great build and great subject I use to have a Javelin and it's nice to see examples of them still around.

;D
You score on some great build
and
Get even higher scores for one amazingly well done re-build of them!
Would love to see the finished product!
Thank You for sharing
