1/48 Bell UH-1D Iroquois Helicopter by ESCI

I've been working on this out of production model of a 1/48 scale Bell UH-1D Iroquois by ESCI. It will actually end up as a Rhodesian/SouthAfrican Cheetah from the 1970s when I'm done.

I'd like to do some weathering, but I'm not exactly sure where to start. It doesn't need to be rusted up or anything, but some grime acquired from everyday use would be ideal. I'm still digging around on this site and doing some searches, but if anyone has any specific tips/examples that would be great.

I made some good progress on this model. Other than an exhaust cowling and the twin .303 gun that should be pointed out the side, it is pretty much done. I've got no idea how to properly weather this thing so I'm leaving it as it is for now.
