I started one of my favorite birds of WWII as little "just for fun" project. I´d like to do a companion bird for my P-51 cadillac of the sky called "Grim Reaper" of the 355th Fighter Group.

This is the Vintage Fighter Series P-47 D 25/26 Kit that i like to convert to a P-47 D-30 flown by L.K. Brueland during WWII late 1944. Here´s example pic from IL-2.

Some things are incorrect to build a D-30 like the landing light cause they moved it to the wingtip or the missing dive brakes and some things in the cockpit like the instrument panel. Here´s what i´ve done so far but a few thing will follow here and there.

If you see something that is completly wrong please let me know. I'm always open for constructive criticism or reference pics of a D-30. ;)

Very nice! I love P-47's. I'll be folowing this build.

And I dig that saw as well! What is that and where can I get one? ;D

Thanks! I did some work on her yesterday. I replaced some nuts on the R-2800-59 but i guess the magnets are wrong. I replaced also the fixed rudders on the wings with the detail set from Cammett i´ve bought a while ago. And this is the progress so far:

Man, this is some awesome building. I've got to get a note pad or something to write on and take notes!!!

Thanks! I turned a hydraulic cylinder on my lathe for the landing gear.

Your new tooling is making my eyes water. Dang that's a big plane. Your cutting in to that like a hot knife in to warm butter.
