I thought it would be time for me to break out this kit and try to get it done in time for a club meeting that I attend once a month. This is one of the best Airfix kits that I have attempted to build.
I find that so far, the fit to be exceptional. It is definitely a kit that is worthy of a builder with more experience than I have, or better at attention to detail.

The only seam that I found was right on the nose. the rest closed up tightly enough as to not have a seam. Having seen Edbert's Kotare kit and the cockpit made me show this. Everything except the ip and the seat belts are OOB.

That harness looks amazing, who makes it?

Airfix has a fair range of 1:24 scale aircraft kits, some dating back to the 1970s IIRC.
I had the Mustang one, think I built it around 1989-1991. The markings in that kit were for the now deceased "Big Beautiful Doll" which is sort of a legendary paint scheme that frequented airshows and calendars for many years.

From what I understand, the "new" 1/24 Spitfire has undergone extensive reworking from the original model.
I have the 1/24 Hurricane, which appears to be the exact same model as the 1970s version, and will be a challenge for me*.

*I already see issues with the fuselage assembly. (some twist, excessive flash and cleanup, and the front engine framework poorly molded.)
It's a good thing I will be permanently fitting the engine panels!

Nice work on the Spit so far.
