1/24 Rusty Aoshima MGB

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the interest in this build, glad to share tips with my fellow model addicts!

Once the oils had dried I flat coated the model, rusted up the chrome parts and gave the whole thing an oil wash with a dirty grey colour and played around with white spirits to get a look of dirt that had washed over the car as well as adding a little green discolouring.

Then I glued on various synthetic and organic grasses and foliage to make the car look overgrown.

Heres the pics

This was definitely a fun project and has got me thinking about another rusty car!

Thanks for looking

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

Just ordered my next rusty wreck project so watch this space!

Great finish !! you've done an excellent job on that one :) what did you use for the groundwork ?

Chris.

Hi Chris

Used various mininatur tuft grasses and then some moss I found in my garden and dried out.
Its a win win because I clear my lawn of moss and get to use it for my models!

I find that real mosses scale well and don't lose their colour. I've got some I picked 18 months ago which still look the same now as they did then.

The mininatur range is excellent with different colours for different seasons and a large variety of grasses

Cheers

Leigh
