i masked off the spots that are going to be gold on the top saucer today which i notated with a "G". The "X" is where the 1701 will go, I don't want any aztecing there. I'm not sure if it's there on the real model or not, I may remove it and put one layer down, we'll see.

Grendels the maker of the paint is Polytranspar. It is their Shimmering Iridiscent Lacquer paint. linky:

I didn't mention it in the video but that is like three coats of the stuff that you see which is a little over powering. I may just do one or two real light. Tomorrow I will mask off the bridge area and the side band area.

Thanks for the link, I had actually found that site earlier and took a look at their paints. It will be good to see them in action!

I cant believe i have never noticed that registry thing before!

ps, i just subbed to you on youtube ;D

The filming model didn't have any aztecing underneath the 1701 registry. At least it didn't once it was painted at the 1701-A. That can be seen in these photos at the Christie's auction of the 8' model.

I didnt think there was, so that was why I went ahead and blanked it out. I used templates from a guy who did a half studio scale model as a starting point.

Cool stuff so far mate. I think you're onto something really special with that paint.

Great to see you taking the time to mask up the aztecs. I'm in 2 minds as to what I'm gonna do when I get round to one of these Fed ships.

Ah, man, I know what is it to mask all those aztecing on the Ent-A's hull... And I really don't envy You working over this stage of the build
BUT!
All these would pay off million times when complete!
So, keep up the great work, You are doing very well, buddy!
Will be waiting for the further progress pics ;)
