    Desperately Need DML Ferdinand Decals

Hi Everyone, So I obtained the The Peddinghaus decal sheet for JgAbt 653, in order to render vehicle 322. Unfortunately, despite success in the past using decals, the markings splintered, despite liberally applying future as a varnish and copious amounts of microl sol. So I am looking for this...

    Difficulty with Friul hanomag tracks

Usually I am exteremly partial to Friuls, and have never had difficulty with them before. But the 250 tracks are proving to be unworkable. The holes are in the interior of the track, with an outer flap on each side. Even cutting pins to the precise link is not helping. When I slip the pin...

    3d Kompanie Ferdier Transfers

I have a Ferdy on the shelf I am hoping to prime and paint later this week. I want the model to represent 322, which was believed to be the vehicle commanded by a Ritterkreuztraeger. The Archer set has 321. I wondered if someone had a used set with that 2 from the 21 remaining. I will buy it...

Tinting White Camo differently for different basecoats

One thing I have learned is that for whitewash/winter camo, you should taint the white to avoid a paper white effect, which makes it look like a toy. I have always used just a couple of drops of translucent blue, to give the white a 'cold' feeling to it, and to break up the paper white,but...

Finishing for Brown Leather on German AFVs

I am working on Rommel's command car which features brown leather seat and bench cushions. I will use vallejo's brown leather, but obviously it should not stop there. What sort of techniques can I use, such as pigments or drybrushing, to give it more depth. Thanks.

    Shelf Queens Rekindle the Fire

In this hobby, I have had persistent difficulty in finishing what I start. Some difficulty comes up in the advanced phases of production, often times the last few remaining steps, and momentum falters. Examples of sticking points include the wire cage that rests over the gunner's periscope in a...

    Das Reich Tiger Kharkov

I am a little gunshy about posting pics, in that I am not sure I have achieved the same level of proficiency of some of the masters I have admired. The model uses a mix of parts from the Cyber Hobby Fehrmann and Dragon Initial kits. I wass able to pick up two Fehrmanns for 100 bucks, before the...

Washes for desert tracks (German WWII)

I use friuls almost exclusiely. Normally, after treating with blacken it or patina, I apply a wash of black sepia and then burnt sienna, or some variation there of. The project in question however is a DAK vehicle--my first. I would like to know what way this should change my repetoire of...

    First Post

Panerace007 encouraged me to check this out. So I thought I would say hi. I build mostly armor, as I have an almost exclusive interest in German WWII subject matter. Not much else to say than that. Anyway, I hope to make some online virtual friends and mentors here.
