The Caliente sounds like a really cool car to own. I'm not a big 390 fan but I am a major 429/460 fan and both of those engines would drop down nicely between the fenders of that Caliente. ;)

First....let me go into the actual car. I've been wanting to build a Maverick for a VERY long time but there aren't many kits to choose from. The best offering (and this isn't saying much) is the Jo-Han kit. I was fortunate to get mine from someone on another forum for the mere price of $50...

I started the engine painting process by black basing everything. For me it's easier to go dark to lighter shades than it is light to darker shades. Plus there's some shadowing effects that can be carried out on the engine block and heads this way and it also makes a good base for the aluminum...

Got the long block assembled and all parts cleaned up for black basing and we'll start shooting color on these pieces after that. We'll be going with Bridgehampton Blue from MCW for the color on this one.

lol.. no worries bud. I apologize for it not working for you but I clicked on it and it took me right to the page. In any case you got it. I haven't clear coated over it as of yet but haven't had to either because all of my clear coats have always been applied before this step.
