Jaitea, what kind of kits are you bashing for this? Other than the 1:144 panther what other specific kit should we look out for?
I was thinking of picking up small scaled military kits of trucks and tanks (100, 72, 144 scale).
You're dong an amazing job with this build. Your attention to detail is out of this world. I'm learning a lot from watching this thread!
Thanks for sharing.
Great video review.
However after seeing the sidewalls from the Blue Moon set I find the Falcon Kit set might be a little more accurate to the movie. I find the front (outside) sidewalls of the Blue Moon set are a bit too repetitive. I've attached comparisons.
I have a Falcon Kit set and they...
I know this is off topic and probably in the wrong forum. But it might give you guys a laugh????
They say it's a UFO, but to me it looks like...

That is a beauty... the base and fighter are amazing. However the one thing that kills all that hard work is the positioning of the ship. It needs to sit at a dynamic angle! The fighter should have been put on some kind of an angle to break up the ship from the death star base (tooooo many...
Re: 1/35 X-wing
Yeah I saw that group build. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to "gett'er done" in time.
I also have a few aftermarket kits, but I'm considering scratch building most of the custom work.
Re: 1/35 X-wing
Scott,
I've got a MPC Falcon kit sitting in my storage room. When you're done with this project and ready to take on the MPC kit let me know. I'd be willing to do a "build along" with you.
I thought the rifle looked too "new" as well, but I wasn't sure if you were done with it yet.
I'd skim over some Star Wars reference photos of different blasters. You're pretty much done my friend, looking goooooooood.
Have you decided what kind of terrain your base will have?
Scott, let me start by wishing you a Happy New Year! This build is coming along nicely. As always you're thinking outside the box.
I have one small question (you're really far along on this, so it probably won't matter) but are you set on the pose? I just thought you've done an excellent job on...
Great looking Fett miniature!
I noticed you have been testing out the "hairspray" technique. Some times I've seen it work and other times not so much. Here is a link to a site. It goes into great detail on how to use hairspray and salt. This technique would definitely work on your Slave I...
Hey Scott
I believe it's the same kit used in your Red 3 build. I was playing around with the idea of scratch building studio scale version, but I'll save that for my retirement... (20 year from now) ::)
I guess a brass tube could work. Although I'd like to attach and detach the fighter while...
I'm going to start work on an X-wing fighter. I wanted to know if there's a tutorial that shows how to build and install a "pipe" stand for painting and displaying. I've seen people using what looks like threaded pipes and brackets to hold up their models.
Any help is appreciated.
