The line of the barrel/chamber must have been off-center of the pivot or swivel point. Once it was spinning he could not let go of the trigger.
I was assuming he didn't lock it in place. That other guy came close to being cut in half.

That machine gun was designed for a helicopter and has rotational recoil and not linear recoil. Helicopter mounts are specifically designed to handle that. That mount was not...lol
