I took a couple of scraps of paper from cutting all of the beer can labels apart (if I never do that again, it'll be fine with me) and made a couple of "Styrofoam" cups for Hooper to crush.

I also cut all of the decal labels apart in prep for putting them onto the Millput cans in the next day or two.

Decals applied to the Milliput sticks, the crushed cans.
The decals settled pretty well into the uneven surfaces of the crushed cans, thanks to Micro-sol.
I'll let them dry/set over night and cut the sticks into cans in the next day or two.
I've got around 20 cans, which is probably more than I'll be able to stage around the Orca, but it's a good number, and frankly, how many do I really need?

Unless they be throwing them overboard, at least as many as in a case of that period.
They look fantastic by the way.

We forget how much norms change over time.
As a kid in the sixties, I didn't think my folks drank a lot, but if there was a party, seemed like every other guy showed up at the door with a case of 24 of them stubbies.

I was just happy that there would be plenty of ripple chips and dip the next day!
And Planters in the peanut bowl! Maybe even Cheezies!
(Junk food was not considered an every day staple)

And ashtrays full of butts to empty!!

Growing up in the 60s, Canadian beer came in those stubby bottles.
And just like the NHL, there were much fewer brands vying for attention.
An average beer for the average working stiff.

I saw it when it first came out in 1975 when I was eight years old. I just started learning how to swim.......on the beaches in Massachusetts.
I was scared to take a bath.......

Going to call the cans done.
A few of them crumbled when cutting them with my sonic knife, the only thing I can figure is there must have been some bubbles and/or gaps when I was kneading the wet Milliput and once cured, not strong enough to stay together.
No matter, have 20, including a few opened and crushed. I made a couple of 6-packs and have some singles to scatter about the cabin and deck.
I used micro-pens to add the outline of the pull tabs, and the opening on a couple.

Hopefully, Pack 7 arrives in the next couple of days and I can continue with the build.

For any other Jaws fans out there, (I sent a PM to one) there is a company called Stannarts, who produces a 1/15 scale resin kit for Bruce, (the mechanical shark from Jaws). This a nice kit, reviewed in detail by Adam Savage's (from Mythbuster's fame) Tested Youtube channel.
Stannarts is running a "Summer Sale" and a discounted price on their unassembled kit, (you can also purchase an assembled, pre-painted option) but the kit is down to $200.00 USD for anyone interested.
They also offer a number of highly detailed, very accurate movie kits for other movies and fans.
I just picked one up to put with my Orca display, since they're close in scale, it should be a nice addition.

Pack 7 arrived Friday, last day of the month, so they're technically still on schedule.
We build some below deck details, hatches and the diesel.
Pretty simple stuff, adding some paint and small details, painted the fuel lines brass, just for a little extra.
Will finish up the rest of the pack in a day or two, per the usual.
