Starting this pretty basic kit so that I can practice some weathering. It's also missing the box, so I've been trying to get my bagged kits done and out of the way. I added a bulkhead and flooring to the sparse cockpit.

I didn't have any Mitsubishi Interior Green so I just used something comparable. Seems the metallics were not used in the cockpits.Zinc chromate primer, typically a yellow-green colour.
One thing I wonder is if this is correct for Japanese planes, though. AFAIK, they tended to be undercoated in transparent lacquers called aotake, in a variety of colours that frequently depended on the factory, giving a coloured metallic look.

Admiral Yamamoto got killed when he was a passenger in one of these. Well, in a G4M1, not a G4M2, but it's the same basic plane.I never think of Japanese flying such big craft!
