Starting this pretty basic kit so that I can practice some weathering. It's also missing the box, so I've been trying to get my bagged kits done and out of the way. I added a bulkhead and flooring to the sparse cockpit.

Zinc chromate primer, typically a yellow-green colour.

One thing I wonder is if this is correct for Japanese planes, though. AFAIK, they tended to be undercoated in transparent lacquers called aotake, in a variety of colours that frequently depended on the factory, giving a coloured metallic look.

I didn't have any Mitsubishi Interior Green so I just used something comparable. Seems the metallics were not used in the cockpits.

Anti-glare masked and painted. Lightly sanded over the rivets, and then gloss clear in preparation for decals. I chose to not mask and paint the yellow leading edges. I might use the kit decals even though they are the wrong shape and shade. Or I must just leave them off.
