Building this Tamiya Fw-190 A8 . . .. .what is part D-24? . . . what is its function?

It's a Morane-type antenna which is specific for the FuG 16 ZY radios, which was used by formation leaders so that they could be found and directed by ground control (the other planes in the group used FuG 16 Z or ZE radios). This in addition to the two antennas already carried normally (the wire antenna between cockpit and tail fin, and the ring antenna below the rear fuselage).

WELL it looks like to me a anti static stick built into the plane as when i was up RAF COLSTISHALL an they were fillin up with keraseem they clipped a static line to the ground for the jags

That was my first thought too, but then I thought, "It seems to be fixed, so maybe it's an antenna?"

I have become very adept at knocking these off! And finding them three months later…
