Soooo, I have had a model 395 Dremel for many many years ... still working (even the original brushes) but the bearings are getting noisy and it is time for a new one.
Not bad considering it has done everything from build models to cut the muffler off a truck.
I took a look on the Dremel website.
It looks like the 3100 might be the closest to the 395
The 4000 looks to be about 25% more powerful but is bigger (I think as there is no direct comparison on the site).
Any suggestions onto which might be "better"?
I would normally just go for the slightly larger one (4000) but I wanted to make sure it is not "too" large (I already have a die grinder and don't need another).
