It's been many years since I went to a club meeting of the TWENOT, the Dutch Armour Association, of which I've been a member for a very long time, but I did today. These meetings always have a model competition, as well as models that are just on show without competing. Here's some of the highlights:

Front a what-if Fuchs 8-wheeler as it might have appeared had it been built for the Dutch Army, behind it a Boxer:

The size is not that apparent, but Boxers are HUGE, and this Fuchs is almost as big. It also won gold and best of show :)

Horsa with British paras and jeeps:

That's 1:35 scale, and won gold as well as the audience award. But, the club's president stressed in the award "ceremony", because we are the Dutch Armour Association, it was only judged on the merits of the vehicles in it ;)

Some of the models from a recent Old Tamiya group build, one of which is probably familiar to readers here:

Jagdtiger by one of the people I went there with:

This won silver in the straight-from-the-box category.

Some other models that caught my eye:

Thanks for posting! I've never been to a similar event.
,Really like that seaplane (my lack of knowledge evident in my inability to identify it).
Some models really convey a sense of dimensionality, of filling a space... it must be in a large scale?

It's an Arado Ar 196 - German Navy Spotter plan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arado_Ar_196

I agree, it was an excellent looking build.

Thanks for sharing those Jakko, some amazing builds to be sure - although I'm not surprised having seen the standard on the Twenot forum. I don't think I could pick a favourite.

As an aside, apologies for not visiting the Tamiya GB for a while, I was really enjoying it, the standard of build is superb, I've just been so busy with work I've not had a chance to run anything through a translator.

It has probably been about fifteen years for me, largely because I'm dependent on public transport to travel longer distances, which generally makes these meetings very hard to get to, especially if you want to bring models. Yesterday, though, I got a ride from someone who lives in my area.

The seaplane? That was 1:32 scale, so it's probably the Revell kit.

But when you're talking about large size, take another look at the photo of the Russian vehicles:

You might be mistaken to think they're 1:72, but they're 1:35 :) The half-finished M76 Otter, the grey model to the right, is 1:16.

Also, the M10 tank destroyer with the crew having a smoke, the Luchs with a crewman on it and M8 armored car with the infantry riding on top are all 1:16.
