The vocals remind me of Mongolia...

I saw these guys a few years ago at a small venue. It was right as things were starting to open up again from Covid so we had to wear masks

also saw them last year when they were opening up for Iron Maiden

They are great live

of course there is also Run DMC's It's Tricky which is a sample of My Sharona

I'd never heard the Run DMC tune before but they sure did use it. It's hard to deny though, that the full length (vs the radio edit) lead solo in this particular song is one of the coolest solos of the decade!

yeah the unedited one is definitely much better

radio/single versions were the bane of many great rock songs

Unfortunately, a definitively low percentage of rock tunes do not have a lead that I would call particularly cool.
In most cases they're just a ****-off session to whatever progression is being played for the sole purpose of self-gratification.
Rarely are the solos I hear cohesive with the song itself. The playing is derived and comes across as just being notes in a scale and that is sad because music should be soulful and have purpose.
Often, little regard is paid to the context of the entire song. The lead should feel organic to the rest of the music and carry it along from beginning to end. Simply playing as many notes as you can in whatever arrangement pleases you at the moment is not playing with feeling... It's six string masturbation.
Then you have the ones who want to be "experimentally creative" and end up creating something so disjointed that it's difficult to listen to because it plays no part in helping the song, it's just random playing, and in some cases doesn't even follow the music's progression; creating a confusing wall of noise.
It's all okay though because what they did was "unique and creative".... Yeah right!
Okay rant is over. I have a new one stuck in my head now because I heard it on the radio while I was on the road to Indiana today.
