Stynylrez white is junk, though. It covers really poorly, more like you're spraying milk than paint. However, when I complained about this on another forum, people replied that the other colours work much better.

Mmm , maybe the case .
I've had good performance from the black , gray and metal ( silver ) .
Never used the white .

I've tried Stynylrez and don't like it. Shelf life is somewhat limited, prone to freezing in transit and difficult to get out of the airbrush if it sets up a bit.

My current favorite is Mr Fine Surfacer 1500 1:1 with Mr Hobby SLT.

Definitely the Mr Surfacer line is awesome.

Same here on those colors but not as much luck with the white like Jakko mentioned. I actually used the silver primer as the paint on a couple of P-51's I built. Gave them a more subdued silver color not a chrome like shine. It doesn't show tape marks when I masked for painting and I've yet to find an acrylic silver that doesn't show masking tape marks when removed.

Hmmm, I paint with a brush... I've tried the Stynylrez (on resin) and the Vallejo (on plastic).

My favorite now though is a rattle can: MR Hobby, Aqueous 1000.
"Water based" (still needs ventilation) but very fine mist, great for 1/35 figures as it doesn't fill in details.
I've tried the grey, and will be using the black soon.
Haven't done the mask test yet...

I've been using the Rustoleum 2X rattle can myself, probably go the idea here.
I used the Flat Red primer for below the waterline on my 1/200 USS IOWA. Easy way to paint that huge hull and it is close to the finish color I went with.

I didn't even think about the hull red and 2X red primer. I will tuck that away for later. Thx Kevin
