I owned a 68 Pontiac Parisienne fastback 2+2 327cid.
This is the Canadian version of the Pontiac Bonneville.
Maybe trim options being slightly different.

Of the dozens of cars I've owned since 1977, this is by far my lost love.
An absolute dream to drive.

I thought it would be fun to build a model of one, but so far I have found:
a resin body on ebay (incomplete 1/25 kit) - too expensive anyway
and an original MPC 1968 Bonneville kit for $500.

LOL I only paid $125 for the car back in 1978, so I think that much for a scale model might be over the top.
If anyone comes across a kit...even a built or incomplete kit, at a more realistic price, please let me know.

Not my car...mine was deep blue...but a nice photo.

Yeah… good luck finding one cheap. As above poster listed the link, that's as cheap as you're gonna find them. Jump on it while you can and/or can afford it. They are a very rare vintage kit and extremely hard to find.

That listing made me laugh.
1/25 968-200 MPC 1968 Pontiac Bonneville Hardtop - Stock /Funny Car / Custom With Clear Bubble Top
Funny Car? lol "Clear Bubble Top? LOL

This model can be built as rear engine funny car. 428cid engine.
Rear engine? 428cid Ford? engine...lol?

Obviously someone screwed up the descriptive part of that listing!

Yeah, I know its an old, rare, overpriced plastic kit and its probably gonna stay that way.
But ya never know.
Someone might have a half built one on their shelf, or beat up old box in the garage...
and a desire to make some poor semi-old guy happy.
You don't know if you don't ask.

Nope, not a typo or error. Oldcarmodels is a legitimate site and description is accurate.

Look in eBay. You might get lucky winning a bid.

you are correct, partly. I looked into this because I was now curious.
I confirmed the kit does indeed have the option to build a rear engine funny car, with a 500cid engine.

However the "bubble top" is an optional part in the MPC 68 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible" kit (and not in the hardtop version).

And (not completely confirmed) I don't see any mention of the 428cid engine in either kit.
It doesn't appear on the box sides of either 68 Bonneville kit, but it is one of the options in the 1967 rear engine convertible Bonneville.

The convertible Bonneville/funny car is apparently an actual Dean Jeffries design (real car?),
and I'm guessing thats why this funny car build option ended up in the hardtop kit.

All very interesting, but it seems I will never purchase the kit I want at these prices.
Probably a good thing since I have very little shelf space left! lol

I do still have my miniature paper version of my car.
Its only about 3" longl, but at least its the right colour!
