Hi, I have been given a Fenga FE 183 airbrush and was wondering if anyone knows if other makes of needles and nozzles fit this airbrush?

I've never heard of that brand .
Looking at their website they appear to be similar in arrangement to the Badger Patriot as far as the type of spray tip and air cap .
The needle and tip are a matched set to provide the proper atomization so if you can assemble another manufacturers paired set that is properly constrained by the air cap ,, and the needle diameter and length work ,, it will work .
Probably , ;)
I'm just giving Badger as an example , although I think their spray tip is slightly shorter .

What are you wanting to put on it ?
Never hurts to experiment ! If it works it works .

Thanks, it has a .5 needle and nozzle, just thought it would be handy to have a .3 as well.

I have a generic ZENY brand airbrush that uses 0.2mm, 0.3mm, and 0.5mm tips. I just bought new ones from ebay.

Ok so everyday I'm on here I learn alittle bit more then I knew prior, I've only been Airbrushing about a year, and so far I've learned that some paints spray well others not so much.. some things clean out well and others again not to much, parts break and need replacing ect ect.. my air brush has .5mm nozzle but I knew there were other sizes.. as far as nozzle sizes go what's the difference and what's best for scale models and what about needles and crowns do they make differences

Hi, how are you doing these days? I have looked on ebay and amazon, lot's of stuff out there. I think I will just have to get some and see if they work with the airbrush. Might get lucky first time, I will let you all know what happens.

Hi, only been using the airbrush about 8 months so I'm new to this as well. I decided to keep it cheap for starters and find out what I'm doing wrong and right in case I destroy it. When I'm happy that I can look after my airbrush I will get a better quality one. Probably best to ask Urumomo, the yoda of modeling, he is all knowing (you can send the backhander later) and will let us both know.

The smaller the tip size the narrower the line it will spray .
That's the short of it .
The needle and spray tip are a matched set .
So you need to use a . 5mm needle with a . 5mm spray tip , a . 3 mm needle with a . 3 mm spray tip ETC .

The air cap is the outer shell covering the spray tip and the same for every needle combination --- for the most part .
There are different styles of air caps like Fan Air Cap s that create a wide , WIDE , spray pattern .
The air cap channels the air into the higher velocity stream that reduces the pressure at the spray tip ( venturi flow ) and allows the atmospheric pressure to push the paint from the paint cup , or the container of a siphon feed AB , around the end of the needle and out the spray tip opening .
Then the exiting paint is entrained in the airstream and on it's way to the target .

Crown caps are the ones that screw over the top of the air cap .
Their sole purpose is to protect the needle protruding from the air orifice .
They do not attach to fan air caps :

A smaller needle and spray tip will require a less viscous paint .
You can thin down most all hobby paints enough to spray thru the smallest spay tip but there is a limit .
Some coatings will require too much thinning to work thru a small tip and be too runny to be any good .
Adjusting paint viscosity with reducers ( thinners ) and adjusting air pressure is a continuous task with airbrush operation .

I find myself using the . 66 mm spray tip for just about everything these days since most of the airbrush work is for large areas or areas that are masked -- so fast , clog-free operation is the priority .

I decided to "go for it " and stripped both my airbrushes completely down. The new one given to me I doubt has been used, cleaned it anyway and lubed all the thread's. My own airbrush, which I thought should be fairly clean as I have been thorough after spraying was a shock. Could not believe the amount of crap in it. Now completely clean and lubed and a very happy 2hrs it's been.

Nothing worse then a jacked up airbrush when your trying to get stuff done.. unfortunately my o rings are all beat up and probably need replacement along with a good deep cleaning of the brushes them selves

That will be a challenge, one of my nozzle o ring's came off while cleaning and that little devil took me 25mins to get back over and down the threads. After several failed attempts I got a small sowing needle (need to put that back in the wife's sowing box before she notices) and dropped the o ring onto it, gently fit the point into the nozzle and then rolled the ring down the thread. Real quick, job done, just wish I had thought of it at the start!!
