It's looking fantastic! I built the same kit for a customer a few years ago, along with the Saturn Ib, both took a lot of scratchbuilding to get right. I'll try to dig up some pics tomorrow.

I dug through some of my photos. My customer is a NASA collector, and he has a 1/48 manned space flight display in his house. I also scratchbuilt him a 1/48 Skylab.

I scratchbuilt both SLAs, engine fins and fairing and the 1st/2nd stage transition as I just wasn't happy with the contents of the kit. The customer provided 2 1/48 Apollos which were diecast metal, and pretty well detailed. And then he bought some 3D printed BPCs and launch escape systems online.

Are these from Sher's Hot Rockets? They look slightly different in construction. And if so, are they earlier models? Always great to see work on the Apollo rockets. I like what you've done with the SM here. It looks great!

I've been looking at photos of the real IU and it seems the external detail is painted a mustard sort of color rather than white as I had initially thought. Perhaps I was seeing some Saturn 1b IU's with white details. Not certain.

Yes, same kits. I think the only kit parts I really used were the tubes, most everything else was either scratch or sourced from other places.

This is a close up of the SM showing some of the EVA handles. I've ordered them from Shapeways. Michael has beefed the rails up a bit to survive shipping. I'll be removing the beefy rails and substitute metal rods of the appropriate diameter.

And more EVA handles. Michael of Shapeways had to slightly beef the rails themselves up for the purpose of shipping survival. In picture #68 I show the replacement rail stock I'll be using. Very nice parts from Michael!

Yeah I was surprised at how many markings there are on the vehicle when I used that kit for the Skylab I built.

This panel lacks detail. I'll use 0.010 styrene to replicate this.

Done with the exception of the panel requiring additional detail. Then on to decaling. I don't mind working with waterslide decals.
