Next project: The Revell Republic Star Destroyer.
While I originally had all of these huge plans to build her with lights and an open hangar, I changed my mind and decided to do the build basically out of the box.
About the only changes planned, are the markings, as I intend this to be the Sith flagship in a divergent Star Wars RP of mine.

In the box

A couple of issues:
Had damage to a corner of the upper hulll, and the nose of the lower hull. I may convert these to some form of battle damage

Custom decals to turn her into the "Intimidator"

And the video of today's work:
RSD Intimidator-Part One

I'd like to thank Grendels for giving me the links to some decent programs for video work.

You are very welcome for the links!!

Great work so far, too bad about the broken parts. I have one in storage, and I hope it isn't broken either.

I wish I had your speed at building, then I could get the build pile in control. I spent 8 hours today taping so I can paint. The sad part is, after 8 hours, I am only half way through......

Ah, Venator, my last big project.. I'm crying, overfloaded by nostralgia :)
Good luck with this one, it's comming really, really good; and the decals are especially awesome - waiting to see the painting and them applyed in places.
P.S: I'd recomend You not to warry alot concerning the damadge on the nose - with some paint job and small messed sprues I think they are going to get a cool battle-damaged look.

Thanks, guys.
And Solander? I'm more likely to do some actual burn damage on her once i get the decals and some other weathering in place.
Figuring she was likely damaged by ramming through something

Most of the detail's kit provided, actually.
All I did was do a black basecoat to help bring it out

After getting a couple of coats of sealer on her, it was time for decals.

Sadly, it looks like I may have overdone the sealer on the decals again.
The issue I've had before with the decals "rolling" has again raised its ugly head.
Debating redoing the decals, or just going from here.

RSD Intimidator-Part Two

Okay,
I did my washes, and, while the bottom and engines came out looking all right,,,

http://s432.photobucket.com/albums/qq45/quaralane/Star_Wars/Rev-RSD-Intimidator/rev-rsd-intimidator-22.jpg
The top came out looking like crap.
http://s432.photobucket.com/albums/qq45/quaralane/Star_Wars/Rev-RSD-Intimidator/rev-rsd-intimidator-23.jpg

So, I've decided to strip off the decals, and most of the wash.
Redo both the black and the grey coats
Basically start the paintjob over

RSD Intimidator-Part Three

Maybe I'm alone but I kinda' like the patina it has now. I think it looks really battle weary and all but perhaps up close and personal, you see things I dont in the video.

Could just mist some of the gray over the kit to lighten it a bit, or is a complete re-paint needed?

Those decals are giving you some trouble though, which is curious. Perhaps the simple markings like the 'stripes' on the wings could be masked and painted to save you some trouble?

Just thinking out loud here man, I'm enjoying the vids.

;D

@ScaleModelMan,
I was thinking of doing that myself, actually. Especially since I'll be starting the repaint with a black basecoat.

@Javelin.
Thanks, man. Glad I could give you ideas

I am with ScaleModelMadman, just paint on those stripes. Sure it is a bit of work with tape, but it will look way better in the end.

I don't know how the decals settled down, but from the photos it didn't come out that bad. Anything that goes in and out of an atmosphere a few times will get a burned up look to it.

I agree with SMM here. I love how it looks with the wash. That baby's gone through some great battles. If you need to lighten it up, just do what SMM suggests. All and all though, I love the really battle-worn look you got going now. It gives it so much character.

All right,
After reading some of the comments here, and over at SSM, I'll likely just redo the decals.
Thanks for the encouragement

If anything, I would add some visible damage to the hull. Looking that dirty and dark (which also looks good to me BTW), to me that is all that is missing is some damage, welded on hull patches, etc.

Now that I have the markings back on her, that's the next step.
Trick there is going to be not overdoing it

Reprinted my decal sheet. I lightened up the long strips to make the panel detail that Carlos put in more visible
http://s432.photobucket.com/albums/qq45/quaralane/Star_Wars/Rev-RSD-Intimidator/rev-rsd-intimidator-24.jpg

Now, sadly, I failed to get enough sealer on the strip decals. The ink came off on my fingers.
So, I wound up painting the strip on the upper hull by hand
