BOOM....Direct hit. You could have held back just a little bit on that punchReally? It's not exactly the greatest kit you'll ever build … It has somewhat toy-like features, such as oversized hinges for the working hatches, lacks a good deal of visible details, the roadwheels are too narrow, the inner faces of the tracks wrong, etc. … (I built it around 30 years ago and didn't think it overly great even then. Better in some ways than the ESCI kit, worse in others. These days I wouldn't recommend either, TBH.)
Nope Dutchie, not offensive at all. Typical though. Bringing race into the subject and what country a person lives in.I'm not making a big deal and I'm not "levelling" him. At least, not from where I'm sitting. I'm just stating facts for him, you, and others to do with as you will. Apparently, you've interpreted this as an offensive comment, but it certainly wasn't intended as such, and the same goes for my attempt to explain myself, by the looks of it.
What I suspect is going on here, is culture clash. From what I've read and seen, Americans tend to begin with praise and only then state critique they have ("You did these bits well, but those other ones need improvement") in order to soften the blow, so to speak, and are likely to view comments that offer criticism only as a kind of attack. Whereas Dutch people prefer (and accept) it for people to just say what they mean, taking it as that the things left unsaid are up to scratch ("These bits can do with improvement.").
I personally also have a (sometimes bad) habit of responding with clarifications as long as I have the impression that the other person isn't getting the point I'm trying to make![]()
That settles it. I'm moving to Holland. (Not really, but I have the same tendency. So I'm "un-American.")Whereas Dutch people prefer (and accept) it for people to just say what they mean,
HI you say the jeep belongs to the wife so will she be building it ? an show on here ? as its to me anyway unusual to see a lady build a military vechile but my wife helps me build my models a little when she is not doin her diamon artIm keeping the DUKW and Bridge Layer inside as well the bagged kits. The former two are about halfway done with the major assemblies.
The question is which of the bagged kits to start? The Jeep belongs to the wife.
