Hi all,
lately I haven't been working on any models.
Rather I started deeper into sculpting. Did some water clay for a while ( http://fischers-design-shop.blogspot.de/2014/12/dragon-rider-5.html ) and am now doing some polymer-clay sculpting.
This project is called "The Princess" and based on Frank Frazetta's "Queen of the Nile" - mixed a bit with Anne McCaffrey's "Dragon Riders of Pern" novels.
I started out (on 23rd Dec 2014) with the wire sceleton
and then slowly added ProCreate (GreenStuff)
then I fleshed her up wit first SuperSculpey firm (the grey one) and then SuperSculpey standard (flesh color)
at the same time I scratch built the throne with 1mm and 1.5mm plastic card
Once I was pleased with the sculpt, I baked it and started to detail it out with regular GreenStuff - here the start of the hair
While the GreenStuff pieces cured (between 2 and 10 hours) I started to add two little, dragon like Watch-Wher's
again starting with the firm SuperSculpey and then working up with the standard
Here's a step-by-step of the head:
Looks a bit like a Killer-Chicken
The left Wher's head was too big, so I chopped it off and sculpted a new one
In the meantime the Princess got more details
And here she was pretty much completed
with some extra details
and then I sarted to sculpt some "fire lizards" (small dragons) that accompany her
and this is the completed sculpt:
The Princess primed and ready for painting
First paint on the platform
starting the non-metalic gold
adding light effects to the small glow blobes on the floor
First details on the throne
and then working more on the gold
And this is how the trhoen looks as of last night (11 Feb)
With the Priness seated
I hope you like this rather big post and I look forward to your comments, feedback and suggestions.
Cheers
klaus
