Yup, I too, love me some classic sci-fi!
In my opinion "Forbidden Planet" is a classic that ranks right up there with oh...like "Gone with the Wind", "The African Queen", "The Maltese Falcon", "Citizen Cane". I think it may be because it's Sci-Fi, it just doesn't get the proper status recognition.
Thanx for clueing me into this vid. I ran right off to Facebook, where I posted it.

I agree with your comment about Forbidden Planet. It is a classic.

This vid also borrowed from Metropolis, The old flash Gordon serials, and The shape of things to come. The harry beast is new to me, I don't know where that came from.

I bet the blonde girl they cast as princess Lea came from the old buck Rodgers serials.... I haven't seen those is quite a while.

By the way, my favorite old classic Sci Fi is The Day the Earth Stood Still. Not the remake the old black and white one.

the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is a GREAT movie.
I didn't even bother to see the new one.
There was NO reason to re-make that one.

That new movie is HORRIBLE, just plain horrible. Good thing you didn't waste your time.
