I bought this kit to work on my metal finish technique. Had a mishap and had to fix a section. I was not happy with the difference in the metal finish compared to the other. It looked good- just a shade different. I've got to get better at keeping notes. I think the issue was I used a different product. Anyway in my search for photos to weather this plane I ran across a crash and decided to make a diorama. I've never done a diorama but am currently working on this diorama and one for a jeep. It was painful cutting the wing off!

That's looking cool. One of these days I might try my hand at a diorama but I am going to take one of your suggestions. I need to take more notes. Definitely a good idea. Now what two colors did I use? Kind of like digging in your closet one day and you discover the Christmas gift you forgot about. What was that you said? No one will find it here? Haha

Looks great even with the mishap — natural metal finishes are brutal. What product did you switch to that caused the shade difference?

I've gotten further with the diorama. I'm really liking making this. I've got a few more layers of resin to go. Next layer will add some ink and then top it off with clear. I'm mostly worried about creating the waves and ripples in this shallow river.

So I've done a few layers of resin using ink to create a bluish green haze. Added a few trees to the landscape. I'm liking the way it's coming together.

Did my final resin pour and next will be making the ripples and flow. This is the part I'm nervous about. Probably take a day or two to read and watch some vids first.
