The new project on the bench is the B-25 "Strap On" from the film Sucker Punch. I decided a bash and cut of the Revell B-25J is the place to start.

I'm going for this:

Using this:

To do list includes:
Jet engine on the right side
Replace left 50cal window with a jump door
2 mini guns on each side of the nose
Move dorsal turret back
Dragon bite damage to tail (not sure I'm doing this)
Custom decals
Other random scifi b25 details, like mohawk fins on the engines

And Im gonna do this:

>get my camping seat

>get a pack of popcorn (XXL-size!)

>have a seat

>watch with loads of interest

>...and wait what you will create here!

Started on the B-25 last night. Went after the major mods first, jet engine, dorsal turret, and the jump door.

By dumb luck I had some A-10 parts in my spares box. Turns out a 1:72 warthog engine fits perfect in a 1:48 Whites Cyclone. For the "exhaust" I simply carved away the shape seen on the movie bomber. The engine cone is a drop tank tip.

Next the jump door. The gun window just about in the same place, so a bit of cutting and some filler solved this mod.

Now the dorsal turret. Used the turret bubble to trace the new location. Then hacked away.

nice work on the new top gun placement.... ;)

Thanks for the support everyone! I have some more progress to share from the weekend.

I put in all the interior detail and wing supports, filled in the old dorsal turret port, added the fins on the engines, added the engine hoses, and added the body flare at the wing root that you see in the film. Next step is prime and paint the interior.

Just a dry fit, hoses will hit the body right over the flare.

Thanks again for looking and the support. I ordered the mini guns in 1:35 scale. Should be just over sized enough to hit the look of the film bomber.

Very cool project and looks like a great start...Looking forward to follow this one..Thanx

I too agree, great build idea and nice job thus far! One question though, I was wondering why you moved the dorsal turret.

In the film the turret is in the early B25 position, just above the back of the wings. My kit is a B25J, the turret is closer to the cockpit. Which would be correct for the concept art but not the film.

Oh wow I completely missed that.... Looks like you've got this bird down! Nice job and I can't wait to see her finished!

"Oh, and one more thing..."

But where are Baby Doll and the rest of the girls? ;)
