The slow reorganisation, or slow creation of order in the chaos if you will, continues:

Just now I decided to see if the die from my ridiculously oversized punch-and-die set would stick. Tentatively trying it, taking care that it wouldn't just drop straight off and slam into the stuff under it, I was mildly amazed that it does, given how heavy it is:

Just over 2 kilos! I'm not afraid it will fall, as it sticks well enough that it's difficult to pull straight off the magnet even with two hands. Tilting it until it hits the wall and then sliding it off is definitely the way to go :)

Doing that, I decided to also clean up other parts of my somewhat messy hobby room. If you've seen my photos of it earlier, or of my stash in the other thread, you may have spotted I have boxes of figures and accessories in several places, and a pile of junk in one corner. I decided to clear out that corner and build some shelves for those boxes:

This is more of the same plywood, sawn to size (like the other one) for me by the store where I bought it, after which I put the thing together by glueing wooden slats to some of the boards so I could then stick those boards to each other. The shelves are 20 cm apart and the whole is 60 cm wide, so I can store 1.80 metres' worth of boxes in it :)

Making room to put this here meant I had to shift some of my less-frequently used tools out of the way, at least temporarily, so I then hit on another idea, which resulted in this being delivered today:

That's two boxes with three of these each:

Magnetic tool holders :) These will go on the wall that I face when I sit there building models, and should go a long way to reducing the clutter as well as making it easier to find the tools I actually need :)
Curious, does that yellow Mr. Cap Opener (with the 10 and 18 on it) work well with Tamiya and/or AK 3rd Gen bottles?

The "10" side works with small (10 ml) Tamiya bottles:

It doesn't with AK 3Gen, though:

;)

I don't know about AK Real Colours, which I think is what you meant :) I used to own one or two bottles of that but gave them away together with the couple of 18 ml Mr. Hobby lacquer paints I used to have. As that was a few years ago but I only bought this tool a few months back, I can't say how well it works on those.

What I do know is that the "18" side is far too small for 23 ml Tamiya bottles.

Ah it must be in a basement? Something we normal folks here in the UK don't have unless you've paid over a £million for! As you see from my cabin in the above photo, mines a might smaller!

Actually it's only about an 8' x 10' area. My wife's hobby area is on the other side of the wall, about 3 times bigger :( and she still uses the living room to work in, go figure.

I just cleared and cleaned up my work area after completing the Skyraider. F6F-5P is next on deck. I airbrush off to the left of photo on my deck or with a small table backed by an out flowing box fan. Works well for me.
