No progress photos, but i think I'm done with this one.
Im 90% happy. Not convinced with the water but it's ok?

I wouldn't sweat it too much... it's all good.

Some thoughts for next time: one way to include blue is to break it up with distorted reflections of other things, the shore, clouds, rocks, vegetation, bubbles... that can also add movement to the water.

Your dio isn't that dissimilar to the above, is it? The blue is the reflection of the sky, so there might not be any under the vehicle.

It also comes down to what kind of modeler you want to be, and how you want to represent the image in your head: do you simulate water like it is actually there, in the room, reflecting the lighting in the room, or do you fashion it like it would be in that meadow, reflecting the sky above it?

Anyhow, great dio, challenging design problems, interesting discussion; I learned something from your work!
 
As a modeller im not into absolute accuracy and engineering standards. I want to evoke a feeling, atmosphere or tell a very small story.
The water is literally the first I've ever attempted in 50 years of this hobby.
I agree about the colours and shadows. I never gave a thought about the shadows UNDER the vehicle!
