I should know this but alas...

What scale in mm is equivalent to 1/24, 1/25?

Thanks!

Would depend on the length of the vehicle or object you are measuring.

10ft = 3048mm, at 1/24 that would be 127mm, at 1/25 would be 121.92mm

Maybe another way to put it would be:

A 15" rim at 1:1 would be 381mm, that rim at 1/24 would be 15.875mm, and at 1/25 would be 15.24mm

I think 1/24 is about 75mm ....1/16 is 120mm

Just went and checked ....yip , 1/24 is 75mm if you're buying figures ;)

Chris.

If it's for figures then:
1/6 - 300mm
1/9 - 200mm
1/12 - 150mm
1/16 - 120mm
1/18 - 100mm
1/20 - 90mm
1/24 - 75mm
1/32 - 54mm
1/35 - 50mm
1/48 - 37mm
Cheers ;)

yeah... but those are not the sizes commen figures come in... Usually there are 6mm, 15 mm, 28mm ( 25-32mm), 54 mm, and 72mm. I had a list somewhere to what that is in 1/?, but I can`t find it... :'(
But doing a little bit of math that would be:

72mm > 1/25
54mm > 1/32
28mm > 1/65
15mm > 1/120
6mm > 1/300

What is commonly referred to as heroic or 28mm in the miniature world is a bit problematic because in reality a roughly human size mini can be between 25mm and 34 mm depending in the manufacturer. Even if they say it is 28 mm that can be different because one measures from the feet to top of the head and the other one to the eyeline... One size fits noone... ;D

Cheers, Sarah.

P.S: Thats for miniatures (wargaming, historical etc.) of course, go to figures for scale models, action figures or figure kits and everythig is different. But my knowledge is pretty limited there.

Elastirion I'm not sure what you mean. Those are standard sizes of figures in certain scale.

I am sorry, what I mean is this, at least in wargaming and the miniature painting hobby, and I added that my post was specific to that, at least as far as I know the most common scales are 6mm, 15mm, 28 mm, 54mm, 72 mm and 90 mm. I just added the smaller scales and 37mm, 50mm and 75mm just aren't as widespread so I added the more common ones. Simply an addendum specific to my little corner of the hobby ;) Sorry if I offended you :-[, but I sometimes have problems to express what I mean since I am not a native english speaker :-*

Cheers, Sarah.

Hey Sarah,
No problem but you are mistaken. Maybe for you the small scales are more common. But I thing you are in a greatly mistaken thinking that 50mm (1/35), 37mm (1/48) etc. aren't common.

Scott glad we could help :)

Like i said, I know my little corner... ;D I sure believe you, I just had not seen any figures in those scales before, since I rarely moved outside the miniature wargaming hobby (mostly 28mm-ish) before I got a little into scale modelling. Still have a lot to learn. :-X But it sure does not hurt to have all the scales :)

75mm would also be a lot more common in figures than 72mm , 54mm , 75mm, 90mm, 120mm, 200mm being the most common to figure painters ;) trying to find a 72mm figure is not easy .

Chris.
