Revell Peterbilt 359 Conventional

Got to say I'm pretty impressed so far with this revell kit. Just a little bit of flash on the smaller part's, the fit is great and some part's fit so well you probably wouldn't need to glue them.

Most of the details are already moulded on so that saves all the fiddley bits and the need to make a part of 10 plus instead of just one.

I have built the same truck before but went for the more expensive version with twice the part's but this cheaper version will look the same without all the hassle. Pantherman

Very cool!
On road trips, spotting a Peterbilt was always a hilight as a kid, in our minds, a 'real truck'!
A little jealous of the parts fit and speed of assembly!
Is this really a photo of the build you started yesterday?!

No, the green 359 was a more expensive version than the one I'm building now.
Just showing TimM63 what he was in for when he starts building the one in his stash. Pantherman

Got a few more bits done. Engine highlights a little bit, wheels and made a start on the dash. No decals in the kit for the dash so going freehand with it. I will post a set of dash photos when it's finished but here's where I am currently. Pantherman

...nice! I can smell the oil... you've done more vehicles, I'm assuming many with rubber tyres; how do you fix them if they are 'out of round' or distorted? I have one that seems slightly herniated, bulging to one side

I sometimes try dropping the tyre in very hot water for a short while then reform it with weight or tape before it cools. It doesn't always work but it's worth a try.

I'm sure someone here will have a much better solution than mine so I will be interested to see other methods. Pantherman

Looking good. I am looking forward to seeing the dashboard. Weird there isn't any decals for it.
