I built that North Africa version two years ago :) I wasn't overly charmed by the link-and-length tracks when it came to painting them, but otherwise it was a good kit. The figures are outstanding, easily the best I've ever seen in plastic.

BTW, if you intend to build your North Africa one as tank 215, whose markings are supplied in the kit, beware that it's not an accurate representation of the real one. The stowage, sand bags, track armour etc. are not quite right, and neither are the markings and painting instructions. Of course, if you want a generic tank, all is well :)

The tracks are a real pain. Every time one section has been built and installed another section pops off!

I hate to say it but you seem to be doing it wrong :) Follow the instructions, steps 7 and 10, they explain very well how to build them and in which order, and when I did that on my model, they went on without a hitch. An important part is to first build the upper runs on the jig provided (step 7), and once that's dry, fit the upper run and build the rest (step 10) in one go before the glue on those dries.

I'll be following along with this one Gary. Hate to hear your luck on the tracks but @Jakko seems to have offered some good advice there. Will be watching for more on this beauty.
Thanks,
@Jakko is very knowledgeable and has great advice!

I took the tracks off and repositioned them.
The tracks just keep breaking where they are glued.

Thanks for following along.

This does not surprise me, as they're already painted. Many types of model cement don't work then, because they can't dissolve the paint. The types of cement that can dissolve paint, like Tamiya Extra Thin, will glue painted parts but not as securely as bare plastic.

The most secure way would be to scrape the paint off where the parts meet, so the glue will get to the plastic instead of the paint.

I have to say that this kit has given me fits.
The tracks were the main issue and I have notice that one side is correct while the other side is reversed! But I am not going to worry about it.
I build for me and it also helps as a tool for battling my severe depression.
That is the main reason I build these kits and I like to build them too.

The tank is finally finished! Now it's time to build the motorcycle and figures.
I know this could be better, but I'm happy with it.
