Panther Progress

Making progress on the Panther. This is a fictitious airframe. It is representative of a -5 serving aboard the USS Boxer in 1953. The markings are cobbled together from a -2 sheet and the spares box. If you look above the serial with a magnifier it reads "F9F-2" but I won't tell if you don't. ;) I'm going to have to stencil in the "V" on the tail and the wing. Other than that all it needs is some detail painting. All those little bits of decal on the cutting board spell "VF-111". I'll tackle that after church in the morning.

Excellent work on the paint and masking. Looking Great!!!

Thanks Guys! I appreciate the comments. I have a lot of airframes sitting around waiting for paint so you may see a flood of finished models in the next two weeks. ;D

I did actually get this finished.

Here she is waiting for her canopy.

And here she is on display with other models from a group build at the IPMS USA Nationals in Omaha a few weeks back.

That F-8 is the one that was on the cover of FSM a few months back. The Tomcat and Wildcat belong to that same builder.
